Beauty is transient
I've been doing a lot of soul searching recently, it's the reason this hasn't been updated in ages. The heart just wasn't in it.

How do people see eachother? Perceptions are so important, it's how we relate to one another. I see a girl with too much makeup and a miniskirt on, I might look and go "Hey, she's hot" but I'll also think "She's probably also a very 1 dimensional person". I've been trying to teach myself how to not do that so often and believe people are fundamentally genuine until proven otherwise. People change through adolescence, though I think I might be going through it right now, a little later then most.

When you look at someone, how you rate their beauty depends on so much. In still photos, the angle of the shot and the lighting have so much importance, but if you see them in real life or in a movie, you're not looking at each frame and analysing their looks, no, you take momentary impressions that last. If you're like me then you usually take their best impression. That's why people don't look so good in photos usually, unless they're setup in a studio with good lighting and are photoshopped.

But that's only half the story of course. There are also a lot of mental impressions you place on people. Why am I so attracted so Missy Higgins for instance? There are 'better' looking celebrities out there. It's the short hair, the muso mystique and dress sense telling me that she is a grounded, independent, life loving person. I impose the desires for what I want to be as a person onto others.

I ask these things because I've become what I think as unhealthily obsessed with how I appear to other people. Is my skin good enough? Do I look weird at this angle? What about diffuse light compared to sharp and where is the light coming from?

I hope this is a phase.

The Prodigal Love Song
It's sexual, it's righteous, it's fucken gregarian.

Falling down, down the slippery slope, the bore-hole and sharp sticks and stones with bruises to kiss. Freefall with it's scintillating freedom and drowning inevitability of the behemoth below.

Everything is a metaphor when nothing's the future.

- Don't read anything into this, I just haven't posted for awhile and just blurted something out. Rock on m/
